HPD arrests two juveniles in eight burglary cases

(The following press release and photo come from the Hattiesburg Police Department.)

On Thursday, June 7, around 3 p.m. Hattiesburg Police arrested a pair of juveniles in connection to multiple residential burglaries in the area around Kamper Park.

The two juveniles, who are both males under the age of 16, from Hattiesburg, are each charged with seven counts of residential burglary, and one count each of commercial burglary. Due to their ages, both of their identities are not being released.

A multi-day saturation of the area including undercover officers, bike patrols, increased directed patrols, and tips from the community led to the apprehension of the two juveniles.

Burglaries connected to the charges:

4/23/18 – 300 block of Broad Street- Commercial burglary

5/17/18 – 100 block of Palmetto Street -Residential burglary

5/20-5/21 – 100 block of Conti Street- Residential burglary

6/5/18 – 200 block of South 17th Avenue – Residential burglary

6/5/18 – 200 block of South 17th Avenue – Residential burglary

6/5/18 – 100 block of Conti Street- Residential burglary

6/6/18 - 1200 block of Concart Street- Residential burglary

6/6/18 – 100 block of south 15th Avenue – Residential burglary
