Forrest Co. men arrested for growing marijuana


FORREST COUNTY, Miss. – Two Forrest County men are behind bars Wednesday for growing marijuana plants.

According to Hattiesburg Police Department Spokesman, Ryan Moore, Metro Narcotics agents, along with Mississippi Department of Corrections, Forrest County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics arrested 36-year-old Caleb Hanks and 36-year-old Joseph Palermo in connection to growing marijuana in Forrest County.

Authorities found the marijuana plants inside of a residential location on Browns Bridge Road. Hanks is charged with manufacture/growing marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance (hydrochloride). Palermo is charged with manufacture/growing marijuana.

Spokesman Moore says multiple marijuana plants in a variety of growth stages were seized along with the hydrochloride pills.
