Temple Baptist to welcome new senior pastor

On Sunday, July 21, 2019, David Whitten, D.Min, will begin preaching as the new Senior Pastor of Temple Baptist Church. Dr. Whitten was formally the Senior Pastor of Fishhawk Fellowship Church in the suburbs of Tampa Bay, Fl, where he served for 15 years. The church unanimously approved the recommendation from the Pastor Search Ministry Team on Sunday, May 12. A secret ballot vote to call Dr. Whitten was an overwhelming 99%. Whitten and his wife, Melissa, have three children: Morgan, McKinley, Madison. He has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Jacksonville State University. He also has a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. “My yes is on the table!” On Sunday, May 12, Dr. Whitten said, “Folks hear me! I am all in. I am all in when it comes to loving God. I am all in when it comes to loving people. I am all in when it comes to serving both.”
