Southern Miss president reacts to NCAA ban of postseason play in MS

(The following is a statement from the president of the University of Southern Mississippi.)

Today, I joined the institutional executive officers of Mississippi’s public universities in issuing a statement in response to the NCAA’s announcement that postseason play in all sports would be prohibited from taking place in the state of Mississippi as a result of the state’s flag. I, like my colleagues, continue to look forward to a time when our state flag represents the full and rich diversity of Mississippi, a diversity that is reflected in our student-athletes, our student body, and the friends and fans of our athletics teams.
